Welcome to our project which will estimate how much noise a welder experiences on a single day. Welders are exposed to high levels of noise exposure and are one of the occupational groups most at risk of developing hearing loss and tinnitus (ringing in the ears). We have developed a unique way to help welders discover how much noise they are exposed to in a single day. It will also show which tools and tasks increase the noise exposure in this job. This project was developed to help welders reduce their noise exposure levels.

Your participation in this survey is completely voluntary and at any time you can choose to stop this questionnaire. The answers you give us are completely confidential and anonymous. Your personal noise result will be reported back to you. We are not collecting any information that identifies you as an individual. However we would like to store the answers you give us so we can build up a picture of the kinds of tasks that welders do and how much noise exposure there is in this job. At no time will we be able to link this information back to you personally.
